Breaking Barriers to Interoperable Healthcare

The HIMSS Interoperability Showcase™ will be collaborating with Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) and the Office of the National Coordinator's Office of Interoperability and Standards to bring the Interoperability Showcase to the 7th Annual Government Health IT Conference & Exhibition.

HIMSS Interoperability Showcases™ are unique events. They bring healthcare stakeholders together to demonstrate the benefits of using standards-based interoperable health IT solutions for effective and secure health information data exchange.

This year's Government Health IT Conference & Exhibition will feature a HIMSS Interoperability Showcase with a focus on federal initiatives that are coordinated by the ONC's Office of Interoperability and Standards. Showcase participants such as the Veterans Administration, Social Security Administration, and the Department of Defense will share their projects with attendees.

Attendees will be able to learn more about the National Health Information Network's standards, services and policies that enable secure health information exchange over the internet. They will also be able to view systems that are exchanging live health information in support of patient care and public health reporting in order to understand how the Standards and Interoperability Framework can work for them..

In addition, the Interoperability Showcase will provide insight into federal interoperability initiatives such as the Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record presented by the U.S. Department of Defense, National Health Information Network, Direct Project and CONNECT.

The Interoperability Showcase is a must-see exhibit for healthcare providers challenged by new meaningful use criteria. The experience will provide attendees actionable information and the opportunity to connect health IT buyers with end-users to answer their most complex health IT questions.
